Makeover Mondays are Here!

Are you in need of a makeover? Well, Melange has got you covered, because we are now starting Makeover Mondays! Every two weeks we will be introducing a special deal that can make you look awesome for less! This week, not only do we have a fabulous deal on a set of Minky Eyelash Extensions, but we also have an awesome giveaway, too!

Download your certificate

We are introducing one of our favorite new services to Makeover Monday. Eyelash extensions make you look glamorous everyday and can help you get ready faster in the mornings, because you don't need to add layers of mascara or curl your lashes. In fact, the less you do daily to your Minkys, the better. How do eyelash extensions work? By adding extensions to each individual eyelash, you get a fuller, longer and more luscious look. Right now you can save over $100 on your first full lashing and first fill. You're going to get both, normally, $265, for just $149. Wow!!!

Download your Makeover Monday deal certificate and bring it in to your appointment. The only catch to this awesome deal is to make your appointment by September 16th. We want you to try this service as soon as possible and on the 15th, a brand new deal will be announced.

If this doesn't fit into your budget right now, that's okay, we're also giving away a full set of lashes in our Get Lashed Lash Lottery! Enter below by doing what you already do: liking us all over social media! We love all our clients and want them to look as fantastic as possible at all times. We'll cross our fingers for you.

How to Make More Time in Your Day

Let's face it, even the girls at Melange sometimes feel a little lazy in the morning. Getting up and getting ourselves pretty to face the world and pamper and beautify our lovely clients isn't always on the top of our list as we rush out the door. If you sympathize, then we have several ways for you to cut time off your beauty routine and have more time for yourself.

Ignore Your Eyes
We love our eyes and enjoy playing up this feature, but it takes quite a bit of extra time in the morning to mascara and line and shade. Our solution: Minky eyelash extensions. Look like you're wearing false lashes right out of bed. They eliminate the need for mascara (and, in fact, have a longer life if you don't use any) and make you feel movie star gorgeous.

Paint Your Nails Less
Manis and pedis are a time suck. Even if you do a stellar job, you can be typing away at your job or doing the dishes and notice that after only a few days they are chipping something fierce. Boo! It's the worst, right? Either you have to go bare or have to waste the time to redo them. Somehow, your toes probably last longer, until you need them to and find yourself at the pool with half of them flaked off. Megan is our resident Shellac guru. These manis and pedis last up to two weeks without chipping or fading, meaning you have all those extra hours to spend doing other things you love to do.

Stop Shampooing
Okay, not altogether, but some. Washing your hair everyday does not help it stay healthy and dries out your scalp. Stretch your shampoos to every other or every three days instead (eliminating the need to spend hours blowdrying, curling, straightening and such) and use a dry shampoo  in between washes if you're findng your hair a bit oily. We sell different brands in the salon, but you can also make your own really easily.

Do you have a great shortcut you'd like to share?

Coconut Oil Rocks!

It's true. We love coconut oil. It's fantastic. We use it to cook with. We use it as a moisturizer. We use it as natural lip balm. not only does it work, but it smells delicious and we already have it in our pantries. Got dry scalp? Instead of looking for a new shampoo that might contain sulfates that will damage your color, reach for the coconut oil. Melt a bit by leaving it on your counter for an hour or so and then work it into your scalp before bedtime. It really works! It's great for hard water that makes your skin itchy or when the summer or winter have sapped the moisture and causes your skin to get all dry and flaky. Think that's cool? Here are some other ways coconut oil rocks:

Your Summer Beauty Bag

Summer's here and the sun is officially out and shining. This means you probably want to change up your beauty routine to keep your skin looking dewy (not sweaty) and fresh. One place you may need to do this is for your vacation. Everyone's talking about packing up and heading on a getaway. Pare down on your beauty products and get everything you need in your carry-on bag and then you won't have to worry about lost luggage.

3-1-1 bags aren't that big, especially when you're flying during the summer and have to squeeze sunscreen in there, too. While you can buy it once you get there, many resorts, theme parks and grocery stores have outrageous prices on these items. I have ways you can find room in your travel bag for sunscreen and still look great in all your pictures.

Tinted Moisturizer - You may be used to taking your foundation wherever you go, but a tinted moisturizer can do double-duty as a foundation and a moisturizer. Most have built-in SPF, so you don't have to bring a second sunscreen specifically for your face.

Powder Foundation - Avoid taking two products and opt for just one with a powder foundation. Not only does it save space, but a good one, like Philosophy Supernatural Airbrushed Canvas, will be long-lasting and give you a flawless finish over your moisturizer. This can be paired with tinted moisturizer to give you more coverage.

Tinted Lip Gloss - Get a fresh summery look by bringing along a tinted lip gloss that also moisturizes. Leave your heavy lipstick at home and you also won't have to tote around a tube of lip balm. SmashboxO-Gloss brings out the natural hue of your lips, plus it gives you a slight shine and locks in moisture.

Trial Sizes - Those fun trial sizes that you get with makeup purchases are your best friend on vacation. Save those tiny tubes of mascara, lip glosses, and eye shadows, and pack them in your travel bag.

Shampoo bars - Shampoo and conditioner can take up a lot of room and also contribute the most to spillage in your bag. There's nothing worse than getting to your destination and having to wash off everything in your 3-1-1 bag because your shampoo or conditioner exploded. Shampoo bars don't ever have to go in your liquids bag, they never spill and are super easy to use. They work just like a bar of soap and have all the benefits of a great shampoo. You can even get solid conditioners which will leave your hair silky and manageable.

If you have favorite products that don't come in smaller sizes, decant into empty vials, bottles or jars, so you can keep them in your travel bag. You'll feel at home and look your best, too!
